Southern Pines
Located
in Moore County in the heart of the Sandhills region of North Carolina
is the town of Southern Pines. Incorporated in 1887, it was a popular
stop on the New York to Florida train route, and Amtrak still runs
through the center of town. The sandy soil and abundant pine and oak
trees make this area a perfect spot for equestrian activities and golf
courses.

close to 12,000 residents and is a convenient location for Fort Bragg
and Pope Air Force Base families. It is an easy 30 minute commute to
the base and families can enjoy a less hectic pace than is found in a
military town. The area is a haven for horse lovers, bicycle riders,
golfers, artists, retirees and all who like to pursue varied interests.
The home buyer can find anything from condos to equestrian estates, and
almost anything in betweenin Southern Pines. Walk to the boutique lined
streets from your home near town or drive past the many horse farms
that line areas like Youngs Road. Refurbish a home built in the 1920's,
or move right in to a new condo! It is all available here—priced from
$100,000 to over $1,000,000.

Pinehurst
The Village of Pinehurst is most widely known for its resort atmosphere and golf. Home to the Pinehurst
Resort and the magnificent Carolina Hotel, it is a destination for
golfers, vacationers, retirees and those who love the charm of a
village filled with southern hospitality with a New England cottage
type of architecture. This oasis is located just 60 miles from the
state capital of Raleigh, home of an international airport, and about
100 miles from the state's largest city, Charlotte.
Some choose to live in "The Village" or in "Old Town", the older,
historic areas of the Village. Here you might find a New England style
cottage with plenty of porches, or an estate home surrounded by
perfectly manicured gardens, and they might be beside one another! The
narrow lanes make one reminisce of the days of horses and carriages on
the streets. Around the next corner is the Pinehurst Country Club, home
of seven golf courses, five of them right here meandering through
theVillage. In the neighborhoods a few blocks from the Village, the
home buyer will find brick ranch homes on the golf course and newer
style homes with soaring ceilings. Homes range in price from $150,000
to over $2 million, and everything in between.
Whether golf front, lakefront, gated community or family neighborhood, it can be found in Pinehurst .
Golf is king, but tennis is very popular too, and you can even watch
the professionals play croquet! A home with a Pinehurst Country Club
membership attached is a popular choice for many home buyers who are
here for the golf and country club amenities, and more private clubs
and golf courses are also available including National Golf Club, the
Country Club of North Carolina, Pinewild, Midsouth and Talamore, and
Longleaf Country Club. When you are buying here, be sure to see them
all!
